Group Introduction:
The Intelligent Multiscale Process Engineering Group at the Eastern Institute of Technology is a diverse research group aiming to study the development and implementation of numerical modelling methods, high-quality multiscale simulations, and artificial intelligence techniques for a variety of different Chemical Engineering applications. Our team particularly seeks to develop novel reliable AI systems and hybrid (AI-embedded) multiscale models to capture a wide variety of different chemical processes and further advance the bounds of human knowledge within these fields. Job Responsibilities:
As part of our team, you will be jointly responsible for conducting research and for assisting your supervisor with English/Chinese intercommunication administration tasks. Your overall responsibilities will be as follows:
1. Academic Research Responsibilities:
(1) To establish research projectsthat interest you within the areas of AI or hybrid modelling, under the supervision of your supervisor.
(2) To conduct literature research on the relevant modelling methods necessary to accomplish your project and on the development of the models.
(3) To implement and debug your models.
(4) To collaborate with your peers and fellow co-workers to overcome challenges encountered over the course of your research.
(5) To validate the developed models and apply them to tackle your projects.
(6) To document the results and write manuscripts for publication in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
2. Administration Responsibilities (Note, the amount of administration responsibilities will vary depending on your supervisor):
(1) To aid your supervisor in the translation of relevant documents into English for their comprehension.
(2) To translate English documents provided by your supervisor into professional Chinese.
(3) To assist your supervisor, in general, with translation and Chinese comprehension.
(4) To fill out basic forms for your supervisor.
(5) To aid in the ordering of supplies and software for the research group on behalf of your supervisor.
Relevant Skills:
1. Required:
(1) Fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese (written and verbal).
(2) Capable of translation (both written and verbal) between English and Chinese.
(3) Proficient in python or MATLAB.
(4) Excellent problem solver.
(5) Excellent project management skills.
2. Nice-to-have:
(1) Familiarity with machine learning (artificial neural networks, deep learning, physics-informed neural networks).
(2) Familiarity with numerical methods (finite difference, FEA) and/or molecular level modelling techniques (kinetic Monte Carlo, Molecular Dynamics).
(3) Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Ding Talk.
(4) English-Chinese translation experience (professional or ***).
(5) Familiarity with academic forms.
(6) Team player and works well in collaboration with others.
(7) Self-driven worker.
3. Education:
Must hold a Batchelor’s or above degree in engineering/computer science or other similar domains from an accredited university.
Compensation and benefits:
1. Annual income:
(1) Research Assistants with Batchelor’s degrees: 60,000+ RMB.
(2) Research Assistants with Master’s degrees: 84,000+ RMB.
