Job Description
The Management Trainee Program is designed to give an overview of all of the products and services that Expeditors offers and to provide the trainee with the experience needed to continue his/her career at Expeditors in any number of exciting positions within a branch from operational to supervisory roles. The program involves not only the operations of each department, but also the finance, sales, retention and managerial aspects of every product and service. A candidate for this program must be self-motivated, hard working, capable of working with limited supervision, and willing to travel during the program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Participate in Management Trainee orientation
2. Complete a monthly recap of activities
3. Update the Management Trainee Database
4. Learn, understand and epitomize Expeditors culture
5. Set an example of excellence in every under taking
6. Fulfill full-time employee training requirements
7. Complete all relevant training as listed on each department’s development map
8. Complete management development training
9. Track the progress of training in each department
10. Complete all relevant certifications
11. Understand and assist with the operations of each department
12. Understand the management processes used within in each department
13. Assist with the responsibilities and duties of the supervisor(s) of each department
14. Understand and work with the operational and financial reporting used by each department
15. Assist Department Managers in meeting productivity and expense-to-revenue goals within budgetary guidelines
16. Complete at least 2 projects during the program
17.Attend all department, sales, branch, accounting and management meetings
18. Attend at least 2 product specific sales or retention calls per department
19. Understand the sales and retention programs for each department
20. Learn how to supervise and mentor employees
21. Develop interpersonal communication and management skills
Certifications / Courses Required:
During your training there will be many courses and certifications you are required to complete as a Manager Trainee. You will only have to take the courses that are available in your country/region. This will be in addition to all Expeditors employee, and department training. Additional requirements may be added.

Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
2. Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results
3. Cross cultural relationship management
4. Good organizational skills
5. Detail oriented
6. Team player
7. Can do attitude
8. Ability to work well under pressure
