A Mandarin department teaching intern at Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi is an exciting role, which offers the opportunity to learn about an inspirational, world class Mandarin programme, and to work alongside practitioners who exhibit high standards of teaching and learning. This person will learn how to support students’ achievement and wellbeing, and to engage positively and proactively in initiatives that support students’ outcomes. They will learn how to be an ambassador for excellence, and will begin a journey of professional development to support them in their future role and career.

You may be required to carry out duties not specified as and when requested by the Senior or College Leadership Teams.
Specific learning opportunities include:
? Supporting the Mandarin teacher to deliver the curriculum
? To facilitate the learning of individual students or small group of students, guided by the Mandarin teacher
? To attend parent's evenings and meetings pertaining to the Senior School
? To support with assessment and documentation tasks relating to the Mandarin curriculum
? To work alongside the Mandarin team to create an environment in which the students’ learning flourishes
? To support, under the supervision of the Mandarin teacher, with the pastoral care of the students in their class and the wider school
? To take part in the planning and preparation for learning both inside and outside the classroom as led by the Mandarin teacher
? To support with the management of teaching resources, the replenishment of materials, setting up of the Mandarin classroom and ensuring the safety of the teaching environment
? To be aware of, and take part in, the school’s performance management framework and participate in training and development activities as required
? To learn how to manage behavior positively, as agreed and set out in the school policy
? To attend staff meetings and professional development activities as required
General responsibilities include:
? To participate in the extra-curricular life of the students by being involved in extra-curricular activities within the school day
? Attend community events and be an ambassador for the college
? To undertake supervisory duties in the dining hall and playground as directed by the school Leadership teams
? To act as a role model, showing awareness of individual needs and responding to them
? To comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, welfare, security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting any concerns to the appropriate person
? To carry out other duties, as may be reasonably requested by Head of Senior school and the Headmaster of Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi
? Support the leadership and development of the College
Requirement
? Chinese Teaching Certificate, or initial stages of application
? Excellent in Mandarin and Fluency in English (IELTs 5 or equivalent)
? Demonstrated experience of using ICT
? Commitment to supporting all aspects of our program including extra-curricular activities and contribution to the school community
? Previous experience in an international school and familiarity with the British education system would be desirable
