WFMRF is a central research facility that supports wave functional metamaterial research and teaching activities in the HKUST(GZ). WFMRF has the opening for laboratory technicians.
Applicants should have a strong sense of responsibility and be able to work independently. Rich experience in fabrication and process of ceramic material for high-frequency electromagnetic wave application and solid skill in operation and maintenance of ceramic-related facilities are expected.
Duties
Major responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
1.Responsible for the daily laboratory operation and management;
2.Conduct basic training in the use of laboratory instruments/ facilities to users and ensure smooth operation in support of research and teaching activities;
3.Prepare laboratories for courses and research activities; maintain the upkeep of communal equipment, required license and experimental material supplies;
4.Monitor laboratorial safety and access control in compliance with the University's regulations;
5.Conduct safety training to all individuals in the laboratories;
6.Provide good support in experiments, research projects and other lab duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements
1.Bachelor's degree or above in a related field of Science and Engineering is required;
2.Knowledge and experience in fabricating and processing ceramic material, especially that for microwave application, are required;
3.Instrumentation skill should include but is not limited to the powder dealing equipment, film equipment, thermal equipment and vacuum equipment like particle size analyzer, ball mill, film casting/stacking/laminating machine, various sintering ovens, atmosphere furnaces thermal parameter characterizing devices and so on;
4.Able to multi-task, detail-minded with good communication skills;
5.Able to work with people from different scientific and engineering disciplines;
6.Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
