We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.
In this role, you will:
The role holder provide valued commercial insights to support and the technical advice in developing the detailed/ complex Financial models.
The role holder will:
- Oversee the building and running the Financial models to support the HSBC's reporting, planning and forecasting cycle and valuations to provide dynamic outputs for business decision making and to meet entity and group requirements
- Supervise the provision of meaningful financial analysis after model run, with valid assumptions and clear messaging for financial and business users
- Provide technical input in stress testing and scenario analysis, to demonstrate HSBC's financial resilience under changing market conditions, to business management and the regulators.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior management, provide valued commercial insights to challenge and steer business decision making
- Prepare analysis of business area(s), provide recommendations to seize opportunities for growth and mitigate identified risks
- Ensure maintenance of thorough supporting documentation and audit trail of assumptions and inputs incorporated into the models, including model limitations and controls
- Review the design, build and development of financial models to ensure compliance with financial and regulatory rules
Qualifications:
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 10+ insurance experience, with deep acumen of financial metrics.
- Qualified financial professional (CFA with strong financial modelling capability is preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese, including experience of preparation of reports, analysis, commentaries and technical accounting opinions on financial reporting matters suitable for presentation at senior management both locally and at HSBC group level.
- Proven ability to deliver high quality of business strategic planning, forecasting and reporting under IFRS17.
