Job Description
We are looking for a creative and motivated Mechanical Engineer to perform
tasks and provide technical leadership and support at all stages of full
lifecycle product development for electric motors and inverters. Experience
with rotating machinery (shaft, bearing systems, enclosure structural and
thermal design) is highly desirable. Significant experience with the
specification, analysis and testing of Engineering materials is also desirable.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the
following.
61 Mechanical design for electrical motor
61 Component and/or assembly stress analysis (hand calculations and FEA)
61 Bearing specification analysis (fits on housing and shaft, B10 life
analysis)
61 Involute spline geometry and spline stress analysis
61 GD&T and other tolerance stack up analysis
61 Design and specify assembly clearance and interference fits
61 Failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) or similar
61 Design validation specification and testing
61 Engineering reports and documentation
61 Drawing checking
61 Bill of Materials (BOM) configuration and management
61 Engineering Change documentation generation
Background & Skills
The ideal candidate possesses these skills.
61 BSc degree in Engineering or Engineering specialty.
61 Experience with engineering analysis tools.
61 ANSYS, ProMechanica or similar.
61 2D drafting and 3D CAD modeling experience.
61 Siemens NX with Teamcenter experience is highly desired.
61 Mathematical computing and analysis tools knowledge.
61 Excellent technical writing skills to generate concise engineering
reports and provide accurate engineering documentation.
61 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance analysis for
product design.
61 CAD modeling software, FEA analysis and ANSI drafting standards.
61 Expertise in motor component design.
61 Adept at design for machining, stamping and die casting processes.
61 Proficiency with PPAP process and requirements.
61 Expertise in the use of fasteners, integrated snaps and clamping in
product design.
61 Skilled at use of sealing methods and processes.
