Job Title: Student Development Advisor
General Description
The Student Development Advisor (SDA) at XJTLU plays a pivotal role in fostering a campus culture of Diversity, Regulation, Innovation, Freedom, and Trust. By integrating Eastern and Western educational philosophies and leveraging global resources, the SDA supports domestic students in adapting to an international environment, aiming to cultivate well-rounded individuals with noble character, exceptional skills, and global competitiveness. The Student Development Advice Centre (SDAC) provides comprehensive advisory services, focusing on students' holistic development and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Student Guidance & Support:
o Guide students through the 'three transformations' process.
o Identify and support high-performing students, including leadership training and awards assessment.
o Analyze student data to identify at-risk students and develop personalized support plans.
o Maintain and update secure student records.
o Handle urgent student cases and ensure follow-up.
2. Community Building:
o Design and implement group activities at various levels to foster a diverse and vibrant student community.
o Participate in school programs to enhance student engagement and development.
3. Career Support:
o Collaborate with the Career Center to provide guidance on employment and further education.
4. Professional Development:
o Complete the Development Advisor Training Program, including onboarding, mentorship, and case supervision.
5. Additional Duties:
o Perform other tasks as assigned by the line manager.
Qualifications:
61 Master’s degree or higher in Psychology, Education, Management, or related fields.
61 Experience in Higher Education, Consulting, or Management preferred.
61 Background in multicultural environments is advantageous.
Required Skills & Competencies:
61 Proficiency in both English and Chinese with strong communication, coordination, and presentation skills.
61 Understanding of student developmental models and ability to apply theory in practice.
61 Demonstrates resilience and mental strength, enabling effective support and care for students in constrained situations.
61 Dependable, adaptable, and capable of producing high-quality work.
61 Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects efficiently.
