Supply Chain Project Manager - JD
The Supply Chain Project Manager should have a solid understanding of the Global Mechanicals & Enclosures team, Jabil’s global infrastructure/capabilities, and the assigned sector. They should know how to use Jabil resources efficiently to best utilize the common requirements of our specific sector customers. This person will be the focal point for all Global Mechanicals & Enclosures activities for the sector and will have responsibility for stimulating, fostering, and managing the organic growth of mechanical content within the sector. This person will be the conduit between existing and targeted customers, Jabil BU/BD, Design, and the Global Mechanicals & Enclosures team for mechanical activity throughout the supply chain.

SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Strategy and Direction:
- Assist Business Development in revenue generation through developing an in depth understanding of each BU’s specific business needs, translating those needs into tasks for the Global Mechanicals & Enclosure teams and developing differentiated mechanical solutions for the sector BU’s and customers.
- Project Mgt. of mechanical initiatives within the sector (single point of contact)
- Develop, publicize and deploy a cohesive sector based strategy for sector specific products
- Develop a vendor base that is focused on the sector
- Direct RFQs to sector specific suppliers
- Develop winning value propositions that add value for our customers
- Demonstrate credibility and competence within our internal Business Units as well as our Customers
- Initiate/monitor involvement between Global Mechanicals & Enclosure and Jabil mechanical design
- Maintain effective prioritization and delegation of sector based initiatives
- Drive positive impact on mechanical margin enhancement through differentiated mechanical solutions
- Drive resource and expectations within the Global Mechanicals & Enclosure organization (Tooling, Quotes, Eng, etc.)

Technical Management:
- Establish credibility with customers through the demonstration of technical competence
- Develop and maintain gap analysis for Jabil/customer design requirements with supplier capabilities
- Utilize Global Mechanicals & Enclosure to identify process inefficiencies/vendor capabilities
- Drive the Regional Global Mechanicals & Enclosures teams to carry out the necessary Supplier Development to fill process gaps and unique customer process challenges
- Understand sector products/manufacturing through Jabil/supplier site visits
- Understand customer qualification requirements for new products and oversea execution through regional management
- Facilitate resolution of supplier quality issues
- Utilize Global Mechanicals & Enclosure resources to advise designers of lower-cost material or assembly approaches, and sit it in on design reviews as required
Cost Management:
- Demonstrate expertise in quoting materials
- Analyze and Develop the Supply Base for use in Quoting Materials
- Support New customer Material Quotation activities
- Reviews quotes with Commodity Management when making sourcing decisions to ensure the best possible outcome.
- Assist with the development of the supply base to exceed the goals and objectives of Jabil and the supply chain management team
- Market Jabil’s Supply Chain Management expertise both internally and externally
- Assist with the definition, Development and implementation of Material Quotation Models to meet Jabil’s business needs.
- Develop effective relationships with Business Unit Management to ensure that Supply Chain Management is fully involved with new business opportunities.
- Drive continuous improvement through trend reporting analysis and metrics management.

- Develop pricing strategies for production, design, and quoting activities
- Provide Global Mechanicals & Enclosure / RCM’s with the sector critical part numbers for inclusion in the quarterly negotiation cycle.
- Utilize previous investments & activities for future requirements
- Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems
- Define, develop and make effective use of cost analysis tools
- Help develop a quick RFQ process, based on segment knowledge and direct suppliers with accurate target pricing
- Provide regular guidance on price trends
- Develop understanding of price points for common types / commodities within the sector
- Provide mechanical inventory reduction management recommendations
Communication:
- Ensure open communication and the regular exchange of ideas and information within the team
- Ensure the timely delivery of supply chains related communication
- Encourage creativity, professionalism and a customer centric culture throughout the sector
- Build effective relationships with Sector VP and Director, BUD/BUM’s, GBUMM’s, Customers, Sales, Ops Management, Plant Materials Management, Finance, peers and team members
