Major task/responsibility:
61Plan and conduct advanced GPC analyses to determine molecular weight distributions of wide range of materials, supporting cross product development, quality control and production registration initiatives.
61Plan and perform spectroscopic analyses (including FTIR, UV/VIS) to characterize variety of materials in support of R&D projects and competitor product analysis.
61Develop and optimize analytical methods to meet specific R&D needs of different BEs, improving product development efficiency and accuracy.
61Analyze and interpret complex analytical data, preparing comprehensive reports for R&D teams and BEs. Apply digitalization tools to optimize data analysis workflows, enhancing analytical efficiency and insight generation.
61Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve technical challenges and support innovation projects across Covestro's business units.
61Maintain and troubleshoot analytical instruments, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to quality standards.
61Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices within the laboratory.
61Manage lab stocks and lab wastes well to ensure smooth operation.

Qualification:
61Master's degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, or a related field; or Bachelor's degree with minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
61Minimum of 3 years/Master (or 5 years/Bachelor) of experience in analytical chemistry, with a strong focus on GPC and spectroscopic techniques.
61In-depth knowledge of polymer characterization and analysis methods. Extensive hands-on experience with GPC, IR, FTIR UV/VIS, instrumentation.
61Proven track record in method development and optimization for polymer analysis.
61Strong data analysis skills, including proficiency in relevant software packages.
61Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
61Good communication skills, with the ability to present complex analytical results clearly in local or cross-regional meeting.
61Willingness to adapt to new technologies and continuously improve digital skills. Basic digitalization and AI skills including Python programming would be plus.
61Be familiar with LIMS or SAP system.
