Position Overview
The School of Advanced Technology (SAT) includes Department of Communications and Networking (CAN), Department of Computing (CPT), Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), Department of Intelligent Science (INT) and Department of Mechatronics and Robotics (MEC).
The position is responsible for the Lab teaching related issues for undergraduate students and Laboratory management work such as equipment materials purchasing and management, Laboratory information statistics, new lab construction or lab renovation, Lab Visit and Health & Safety issues. Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Provide instrumental technical support and teaching assistance in some lab modules, and support students in their teaching and research activities in the laboratory.
2. Manage the assigned school laboratories, including daily administrative and safety related work, and coordinate to resolve issues related to laboratory environments and facilities.
3. Fulfill the responsibilities of a member of school laboratory health and safety committee.
4. Be responsible for the management of all equipment in the assigned laboratories, including conducting routine inspections of equipment operation status, ensuring that equipment is in good working condition, and promptly identifying and addressing malfunctions.
5. Provide technical support for the basic operation, daily maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment to users, and organize regular equipment-related training sessions.
6. Analyze equipment operation data, identify potential problems, propose and implement improvement measures to enhance equipment efficiency and reliability, and optimize equipment management processes.
7. Support the selection and purchase of consumables or equipment for school laboratories.
8. Support fixed asset management.
9. Conduct daily monitoring and maintenance of equipment status/information within the LIMS (Laboratory Instrument Management System).
10. Support the information statistics and documentation management of the equipment, including the creation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for equipment.
11. Perform other duties defined by the manager commensurate with the job grade and position.
Qualifications:
1. Master's degree in electronics and electrical engineering, power electronics, mechanical engineering, automation, or related fields.
2. Bachelor's degree in electronics and electrical engineering, power electronics, mechanical engineering, automation, or related fields is also acceptable with strong evidence of other qualifications or related working experience.
3. Ability to communicate in both Chinese and English.
4. Have a basic knowledge of electrical and electronic engineering, able to understand and apply circuit principles, and the characteristics of electronic components;
5. Possess fundamental knowledge in mechanical principles, mechanism design, and material mechanics, with a certain understanding of the structures of small robots and robotic arms. Candidates with the ability to perform simple maintenance and adjustments are preferred;
6. Familiarity with PLC programming and the ability to write programs to control small robots and robotic arms to complete specific experimental tasks is preferred;
7. Experience in equipment management is preferred;
8. Proficient in electrical safety regulations to ensure the safety of electricity usage during experimental processes.
9. A good team player with strong interpersonal skills.
10. Dependability, reliability and ability to produce work of high quality in time.
11. Independent and proactive in implementing the duties.
