Open Rank Faculty Position in English Language Teaching School of Humanities and Social Science (Ref. AC2025/054/01)
HSS is looking for applicants who have strong interest in joining the Language Education Division and helping our students to become competent communicators in English. The anticipated start date is August 2025 (AY2025-26 Term 1).
Teaching-track: Associate Professor (Teaching)/Assistant Professor (Teaching)/Lecturer
Applicants should have a doctoral degree in English Language/Applied Linguistics or a related field from a globally recognized university and at least 3 years of experience in teaching English to students at the tertiary level. Preference will be given to candidates with a STEM background in their undergraduate or master s education. Applicants with proven record of any of the following are highly encouraged to apply: a) Developed and/or taught English courses targeting medical students;
b) Developed and/or taught English courses targeting music students;
c) Developed and/or taught English courses targeting science and engineering students.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
a) Teaching University Core English courses;
b) Teaching elective courses;
c) Assisting in curriculum development and administrative assignments.
Salary & Benefits
Salary will be competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made under the establishment of CUHK, Shenzhen and statutory benefits will be provided according to the prevailing labor laws applicable in the People s Republic of China. The appointee will be based at the University campus in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, China.
