This role works across functional teams, including GSM, Global and Regional Product Development, Product Management, Program Management, Engineering, Product Quality, JDM/ODM/OEM/CM partners. Extremely strong communication, partnering, and influencing skills are required, in addition to working knowledge of the NPI and manufacturing environment. Data gathering and Excel skills will be key to success.
The Assist Commodity needs gathering and acting on technology roadmaps and cost information from tech partners/suppliers, market, and peer internal Subject Matter Experts. This is a key role in estimating, correcting, and verifying product components’ costs, especially in the early or concept phase of the product development life cycle (PDLC) and NPI.
The Assist Commodity Manager will strategically drive improvements within assigned direct material categories while ensuring the continuity of supply from sub-tier suppliers to manufacturing sites, identifying & negotiating for cost reductions, improving the Belkin cash flow, deploying supplier risk strategies, supplier relationship management, negotiating agreements and more.
As Assist Commodity Manager, you need support your manager and the commodity team to create expense PO,create vendor code in system,train factory to provide capacity plan, CTB,etc.
Essential Functions
61 Support the Belkin GSM team in meeting NPI Project cost targets for portfolio commodities or with assigned sub-tier suppliers.
61 Support your leader and the commodity team to create expense PO,create vendor code in system,train factory to provide capacity plan, CTB, etc.
61 Maintain a Belkin AVL & SOC for key sub-tier processes and suppliers in the assigned portfolio, including audit and readiness status.
61 Anticipate and plan AVL evolutions to keep pace with Belkin product marketing plans and technology evolutions. Ensure senior management is aligned and supportive of plans.
61 Ensure that the assigned portfolio stays competitive from cost, quality, and delivery perspectives. Expertise in cost estimating and cost modeling is key.
61 Perform commodity supply market analysis including supply base optimization (total landed cost, quality, and delivery)
61 negotiations, sourcing, and change of supplier activities within the assigned portfolio.
61 Utilize tools and market indices to enable negotiations.
61 Drive supplier innovation offerings to Belkin.
Secondary Functions
61 Build relationships with sub-tier and technology suppliers. Identify where leverage or business consolidation opportunities exist so that the Belkin GSM / NPI team can consider them for project allocation.
61 Conduct supplier assessments and deploy qualification processes (supplier, material, or product) as needed.
61 Conduct business performance reviews with suppliers and senior management. Establish a regular review structure/cycle as needed.
61 Negotiate NDAs and contracts including MSA (Master Supply Agreement) and SOW (Statement of Work).
61 Perform financial analysis and interpret an assortment of financial reports.
61 Understand and follow company rules and regulations.
61 Perform all other duties as assigned and required.
Education & Experience
61 Education in the Supply Chain, Business Administration or Engineering.
61 Advanced degrees such as Master of Engineering or MBA would be a plus.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
61 Fluent in English (verbal and written) and Mandarin. Excellent communication skills.
61 Ability to toggle between strategic and detail orientated thinking.
61 Financial literacy and accounting practices, especially regarding cost savings calculations.
61 Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
61 Exceptional computer literacy includes proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications and power point.
Location & Travel
61 The position is to be located at Belkin offices in Shenzhen
61 Frequent regional travel to Supplier locations in China & Vietnam (20 ~ 30%)
