Role Overview：
The Application Support Engineer is responsible for the maintenance, optimization, and operational support of the university s campus-wide application systems. This role ensures the smooth and efficient operation of various educational and administrative applications, including course management systems, student information systems, and other digital platforms. The engineer will work closely with faculty, staff, and IT teams to diagnose and resolve system-related issues, maintain data integrity, and improve the overall user experience.
Key Duties：
【Application System Maintenance and Operations】
Provide daily support and administration of key campus systems, including course management, student enrollment, and academic records.
Manage system configurations, updates, and routine maintenance to ensure application stability and optimal performance.
Oversee data imports and exports, such as course schedules, student enrollment records, and faculty assignments.
Maintain user access rights and permissions, ensuring secure and appropriate system usage.
【Issue Diagnosis and Recording】
Investigate and resolve application-related issues reported by faculty, staff, and students.
Document troubleshooting procedures, known issues, and resolutions for future reference.
【User Support and Training】
Assist faculty and administrative staff with system-related inquiries and operational guidance.
Develop and maintain user manuals, FAQs, and training materials to enhance self-service support.
Conduct training sessions for end-users on system functionalities and best practices.
【System Enhancement and Continuous Improvement】
Collaborate with developers and IT teams to test new features and system enhancements.
Identify and propose improvements to application workflows and user experience.
Monitor system performance and usage patterns to recommend optimizations.
Participate in system upgrade projects, including testing and deployment.
Requirements：
Skill Requirements: Hands-on experience with application administration, like ERP, student information systems, or teaching management systems. Basic scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation and troubleshooting.
Understanding of system integration methods (API, web services, ETL processes).
Experience Requirements: Experience in application support, IT operations or similar role, experience working in an academic IT environment is preferred.
Educational Requirements: Bachelor s Degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
