1. Utilize chemistry, metallurgy, and relevant knowledge in a laboratory environment as directed by the supervisor.
2. Perform testing of material properties and behavior (including mechanical, electrical, thermal, etc.) following well-established standards and procedures.
3. Follow electronic industry practices including applications for soldering, sintering, surface mount technology, semiconductor packaging, thermal interface interconnections, etc.
4. Complete data collection and processing of material testing and performance.
5. Manage and maintain equipment and consumable lab supplies for routinely used items.
6. Document details and procedures for testing of materials, processes, assemblies, and instrumentation.
7. Optimize processing conditions and parameters to enhance material performance.
8. Follow laboratory compliance and site-specific environmental protection requirements, policies, and procedures.
9. Perform other duties or special projects as assigned
1. Bachelor ’s or Master’s degree in technical discipline (chemistry, metallurgy, material science or engineering); an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
2. Fluent oral and written communication skills.
3. Strong computer skills with a focus on data processing
4. Experience in safety, quality assurance, and best engineering and laboratory practices.
5. “Hands on” machine operation and test experience.
6. Demonstrated ability to complete a wide-variety of assignments in a manufacturing lab environment
7. Ability to read and understand product design and fabrication documentation.
